ROB GARRETT’S “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute” Las Vegas tribute show continues in the “MODERN SHOWROOMS” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.

Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the best-selling and most iconic singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.

More than just being one of the best-selling and concert drawing artists ever, he’s also created and performed the music that defined generations — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.

In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences throughout the world through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.

Like his idol, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.

In May 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a more info successful 15-year run in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.

In 1995, Garrett was selected by Paul Revere (of The Raiders) to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.

What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year success.

By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to go independent.

He began a busy tour circuit, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”

He continues to perform to sold-out venues nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.

Garrett has also won numerous awards, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19, 2025 officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has appeared at more Vegas stages than any other.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only continuous Neil Diamond tribute in the U.S..
